Overview

Keying systems with Single Step Masterkeying are not common.  However, there are a couple of manufactures that have designed systems which utilize this type of Masterkeying.  Single Step Masterkeying operates similar to the 2 Step Masterkeying Systems, except that they typically have less than the 10 or 11 depths contained in the more common systems.

Getting Started

The progression sequence used in Single Step Progression Masterkey systems usually contains more than 4 levels of progression, so you get a number of Changekeys directly proportionate to the number of depths in each pin chamber times the number of pin chambers being rotated.  the only restricting factors are MAXIMUM ADJACENT CUT for the manufacture, and if the system is an INTERCHANGEABLE CORE system.

With KeyNET, you have complete control of how you create bittings and masterkey systems which utilize Single Step Progression;

  • Single Step Systems

    • ASSA

    • Medeco

    • Special Systems.

Contact the Spectrum Group for assistance with Single Step Masterkeying.  Due to vast differences in how Single Step Masterkey is developed; Spectrum Group will either provide you with specialized training, or prepare the masterkey system for you.

There are number of items listed that are related to how the cylinder is pinned and the keys are cut.  Additionally, you can set Admin Limits, which will remind you when you need to obtain permission to create more keys, or to warn administrators when they have issue too many keys.

  1. KeyNET provides you with Pinning Charts to expedite your pinning of cylinders (no more paper and pencil to figure out how to pin a cylinder).

  2. KeyNET takes full advantage of being able to use a Computerized Key Machine to create keys.  We have found that the time and material saved by using this type of machine will pay for itself VERY quickly.

After you have Defined a KEY, individually or from a masterkey system, you can SEARCH for the key.  KeyNET remembers the hierarchy of all masterkey systems it has created and provides that information in a number of ways...you choose which works best for you.
