  • Your program runs on one of your High Speed Servers.  You may access your information from any internet accessible computer.

    • Data is ported, and encrypted.

    • Browser encryption is added to the ported encryption.

  • You pay a one time connection fee.

  • You pay a yearly subscription fee.

  • Spectrum Group does all of your IT services for you.

    • All upgrades are performed by Spectrum Group.

    • All backups are performed by Spectrum Group.

    • Remote data storage is taken care of for you.

    • Software Operations Manual is maintained online, from inside the program.

Benefits & Considerations:

No Server to maintain.

No Network to maintain.

No Backups to maintain.

No Remote Storage problems.

Works from any Computer that can access the Internet.

Program is always current.

Manuals are always current.

Site Based (Alternate Method) - we sell the complete server and program, ready to go...you provide the network.  Or, you provide the server and we will configure and load the software, returning it to you ready to go...you provide the network.  In either case...all of OVERALL CONSIDERATIONS apply.  Specifics about the Two Deployment Methods are listed below.

Spectrum Group recommends the Site Based Web Appliance, if you are opting for a Site Based Deployment, and you want maximum support with minimal local IT support.

OVERALL CONSIDERATIONS

Using a SpectrumNET system by Site is the a powerful,  economical and efficient way to use our Spectrum Group Web Based software.  Here is how it works:

bullet

Your program runs on a Server Provided at time of purchase.  The program runs the Web-Appliance/Server as a proprietary server.  Your local IT personnel configure access.  Typically, you may access your information from any intranet accessible computer; or when allowed, from the internet.

  • SSL is available by special add-n.

  • You pay a one time configuration fee.  This may include the cost of one of our Web-Appliance/Servers, or reconfiguration of a customers machine.

  • You pay a yearly subscription fee for Support Contracts.

  • All upgrades are available by Support Contract for local installation.

  • Software Operations Manual (eManuals) are provide as part of each upgrade.  Access to the sg1 website is required.

Considerations for Web Appliance Deployment:

  • (1) Web Appliance Deployment - Your IT  technicians provide us access through your firewall on a specified port (port 22 - Secure Shell), to and from specific TCP/IP addresses (provided at the time on install).

    • We perform all of the programming, database and upgrade support through that Secure Shell Port (port 22).

    • Operational support is provided via VPN or other access as agreed to at the time of contract.  When SSL is used, port 443 can be utilized in place of VPN access, if the customer so chooses.

    • Spectrum Group performs all backups remotely.

    • Access to your system is controlled locally.  With Web Appliance Deployment Systems there is no Customer access to the database...Spectrum Group assumes responsibility for the condition or integrity of the data.  Chain of Custody issues are controlled in the programming and database.

    • Web Appliance Site Server is located in Customers Server Farm with UPS.

    • Local Network maintained locally.

    • Local Backups maintain by Spectrum Group.

    • Remote Data Backup Storage provided by Spectrum Group.

    • Works from any Computer that is granted access on the Intranet., and internet for access to the manuals.

    • Program is updates are provided with remote access.

    • Manuals are always current to the latest upgrade which has been installed.

    • Comprehensive Site Based SUPPORT Contract are available, and required.

Considerations for Customer Controlled Deployment:

NOTICE: Spectrum Group will only provide the Customer Controlled Deployment Model to facilities with IT staff which are knowledgeable in UNIX/Linux

  • (2) Customer Controlled Deployment -All of your IT services are performed by local technicians or remotely under Support Contract.

    • All backups are the responsibility of the local facility.

    • Remote data storage is the responsibility of the local facility.

    • Access to your system is controlled locally.  Because Site Based Customer Controlled Systems allow local Administrators access to the database...Spectrum Group assumes no responsibility for the condition or integrity of the data.  If Chain of Custody claims may be an issue, we recommend using Subscription or Web Appliance deployments, rather than Site-Based, KeyNET applications.

    • Site Server maintained locally.

    • Local Network maintained locally.

    • Local Backups maintain in-house.

    • Locally controlled Remote Storage.

    • Works from any Computer that is granted access on the Intranet., and internet for access to the manuals.

    • Program is updates are provided with remote access or your own technicians.

    • Manuals are always current to the latest upgrade which has been installed.

    • Comprehensive Site Based SUPPORT Contract are available, and required.

    • Spectrum Group will support Customer Controlled Deployments on an hourly fee basis (4 hour minimum).  Remote access must be granted by the customer via Secure Shell (port 22) at the time of service.

If  a customer desires to use the KeyNET or other Spectrum Group software programs in any environment or configuration other than OUR STANDARD site based proprietary Web-Appliance/Server configuration, then:

    (a) Spectrum Group NEEDS ROOT OR ADMINISTRATIVE ACCESS TO ALL MACHINES INVOLVED IN THE OPERATION OF THE SYSTEM, FOR BOTH THE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE AND ANY SUPPORT PROCEDURES Spectrum Group MAY NEED TO PERFORM.  SPECIAL FEES WILL BE ADDED FOR THESE SPECIAL CONFIGURATIONS.

Customers can change the passwords when Spectrum Group has finished with the install and testing, but during the time  Spectrum Group is performing work, Spectrum Group requires unrestricted access to the server where C5I is, the server where the backup is, and the server where the database is. Without these things, Spectrum Group WILL NOT PROVIDE SUPPORT. Spectrum Group will not attempt to install or support anything.

    (b) NO CUSTOMIZATION OUTSIDE OF OUR STANDARD site based proprietary Web-Appliance/Server configuration SETUP IS INCLUDED IN THE

INSTALLATION CHARGE.  NO SUPPORT OF EXTERNAL SERVERS OR OUR INTERACTION WITH THOSE SERVERS IS INCLUDED IN Spectrum Group  SUPPORT FEES.

That means that at ANY time, during installation or future support, if Spectrum Group should  have to touch, work with, modify, reprogram, or whatever, anything to make this work in a hybrid or nonstandard environment, there be AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE, BY THE HOUR, FOR ALL ASSOCIATED Spectrum Group TIME ABOVE AND BEYOND THE STANDARD INSTALLATION CHARGE AND/OR SUPPORT CHARGE.

    (c) DUE TO THE SENSITIVE NATURE OF THE DATA CONTAINED IN THE KeyNET PROGRAM, ANY SITE BASED SYSTEM THAT IS NOT TOTALLY CONTAINED OUR STANDARD site based proprietary Web-Appliance/Server configuration IS NOT RECOMMENDED BY Spectrum Group.  Optional configurations are provided at the customers request and are provided  at the customer's risk; Spectrum Group assumes no responsibility for data stored outside OUR STANDARD site based proprietary Web-Appliance/Server configuration.  Spectrum Group WILL CHARGE FOR ANY TIME, ABOVE AND BEYOND THE SERVICE CONTRACT, FOR ANY SUPPORT OF A DATABASE THAT IS STORED ON A SERVER ACCESSIBLE TO LOCAL USERS AND OTHER COMPUTER SUPPORT TYPES.

    Site Server maintained locally.

If our customer is using our OUR STANDARD standalone proprietary Web-Appliance/Server, it must be powered by an uninterruptible power supply, and is covered under the warranty agreed to and documented at time of purchase.

If our customer is using KeyNET on a computer provided by them, all hardware warranties are outside of Spectrum Group agreements and shall be totally maintained by the customer.

    Local Network maintained locally.

All Networking is maintained locally by the customer.

Local Backups maintain by the customer.

If our customer is using our OUR STANDARD standalone proprietary Web-Appliance/Server, backups are maintained by tape-backup provided with the system.  The tape backup is warranted by the manufacturer of the tape backup, and not by Spectrum Group.  It is the responsibility of the customer and local administrators to provide, change and maintain tapes.

If our customer is using a custom configuration for backing up data, other than OUR STANDARD standalone proprietary Web-Appliance/Server configuration, it becomes the sole responsibility of the customer to perform and maintain backups.

    Locally controlled Remote Storage.

It is the sole responsibility of the customer to maintain any remote data storage for site based configuration.,

Works from any Computer that is granted access on the Intranet.

Program is updated by local technicians.

If our customer is using our OUR STANDARD standalone proprietary Web-Appliance/Server configuration, it must be powered by an uninterruptible power supply, and is covered under the warranty agreed to and documented at time of purchase.

If our customer is using KeyNET on a computer provided by them, all hardware warranties are outside of Spectrum Group agreements and shall be totally maintained by the customer.

Manuals are always current to the latest upgrade which has been installed and are available from a link with KeyNET to our SG1 website.
